People urged to contact local politicians after bus eireann pay talks collapse

Talks to resolve the Bus Eireann pay dispute have collapsed.

SIPTU and the NBRU have been meeting with the company at the Workplace Relations Commission this afternoon.

In a statement, the NBRU says its members have been put on notice and the union will immediately engage in an all-out strike IF Bus Éireann move to unilaterally implement cuts to the terms and conditions of workers.

Speaking to Ocean FM SIPTU’s Wille Noone said the company are now looking for 12 million euro in cuts by May, something he says the trade unions could not deliver.

Mr. Noone says people in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal need to get on to their local councillors to get this issue sorted.
