Stag and Hen parties worth millions to Sligo this year

The business of bringing Hen and Stag parties to Sligo will be worth more than one million euro to the local economy in the early part of 2017.

That’s according to owner of henandstagsligo.ie Fergal Quinn who told Ocean FM that bookings made in the first two weeks of January alone will be worth that much to the town.

The company has booked over 3,000 people to visit Sligo this year, a 200% increase on the same time last year.

The likes of Carrick on Shannon in Leitrim and Westport in Co. Mayo are considered the stag and hen capitals of Ireland but Fergal told me there is no reason Sligo shouldn’t be aiming to bring in the same kind of figures as those towns.
