Donegal-based garda seeks to have case included in McCabe public inquiry



Pressure is mounting for an alleged smear campaign against a Donegal-based garda to be included as part of the public inquiry involving Sergeant Maurice McCabe.

Garda Keith Harrison claims he has been the victim of a five-year campaign of intimidation after arresting a fellow officer for drink-driving in Athlone in 2009.

This included unjustified referrals about his family to the family and child agency Tusla, it’s been alleged.

Garda Harrison’s allegations were first aired by Donegal Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty in the Dail in May 2014.

This morning, Deputy Doherty told Ocean FM that as a father of four, he couldn’t even begin to comprehend what Garda Harrison and his family have endured:
