Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA Club Notes



Congratulations to all our underage players who received their medals at a presenation last Friday evening. Thank you to Senior club player, Daniel Davey who presented the medals and gave a very informative talk to everyone in attendance afterwards. 

The club are taking part again this year in the Ocean FM quiz, the first round is against Coolera / Strandhill Club and will take place in O’Grady’s, Coolaney on Thursday 23rd February at 7pm. Support for the team would be appreciated. 

Registration of all players from U-6 to Senior Level will take place on Saturday 4th March, in St.Nathy’s Hall and Coolaney Community Centre between 11-1pm. The cost this year for all underage players is E10. Senior players fee is to be decided. All players must be registered before they play in any game.

U-14 training continues every Monday evening from 7-8pm in St. Nathy’s Hall. New players are welcome. 

Blue Kidz U-8 & U-10 training commences this Saturday morning, 18th February from 10-11am in Collooney Teeling Centre. New players & children are very welcome to attend. Your club wants you!

The Blue Kidz Nursery programme for junior and senior Infants (4 to 6 years) in Coolaney Community Centre and St Nathy’s Hall, Mullinabreena every Saturday morning from 10-10.45am. We encourage all children from the club catchment to attend, as this is a fun and enjoyable introduction to the skills of Gaelic Games. Fun for free! 

The newly formed coaching committee will meet for the first time on Tuesday, 21stFebruary at 9pm in Coolaney Community Centre. All old & new coaches, along with people that may be interested in getting involved in club coaching are invited to attend.

Lotto tickets are currently on Sale. This is the Club’s main fundraiser for the year and the continued support of the local communities is greatly appreciated. 

grma (go raibh maith agat) is the new GAA Membership Card programme providing benefits and rewards to you, as a GAA member.  It is a ‘thank you’ or ‘go raibh maith agat’ for your involvement in your GAA club, engagement in GAA activities and attendance at games. Registration for the programme is now open with benefits available from January 2017. When you sign up, you will receive your Membership Card early next year enabling you to avail of partner discounts, special offers and earn points for going to games. Points can be redeemed by individual members or pooled for redemption by GAA clubs. You will need a GAA membership number to join grma and receive a Membership Card. Please request your membership number at your club when you renew your subscription for 2017. New club members will not have a GAA membership number until their club has registered them on the GAA Games Management System. The club will be able to provide a membership number once this registration step has been completed.Membership Cards will only be distributed to members who have signed up to grma online.The programme is only available to adult members (over 18’s).

The new Club Players’ Association (CPA) is urging all club members, (playing & non playing) to register their details at www.gaaclubplayers.com. “Let your voice be heard”!

Congratulations to St Attracta’s junior team on qualifying for the Junior Connacht Final, they defeated Roscommon CBS 1-13 to 1-9. They play St Jarlath’s in the final. Good luck to the senior team in their Connacht Semi final this Thursday, 16th February against St Jarlath’s, throw in 12.30am in Claremorris.

Well done to Criostoir Davey and all the Sligo team & management on their impressive away win against Tipperary at the weekend.
