Gardai to clamp down on speeding in north Leitrim

Gardai are to clamp down on motorists speeding through the North Leitrim village of Glenfarne.

The issue arose during a discussion on speeding at the recent meeting of the Leitrim Joint Policing Committee.

Superintendent Kevin English says he has met with almost 17 text alert groups in the county and there was concern about speeding in two of them, in Glenfarne and Fenagh.

He says the gardai have their own unmarked speed detectors and he has added extra villages to focus on.

He told Ocean FM News what was the concern in Glenfarne.
