A young girl was taken to Sligo University Hospital this morning after being rescued from the Garvogue river.
The incident happened at around half past five this morning at John Fallon bridge at Riverside.
The emergency services were alerted after she went into the river and two other girls went in to help her.
It’s also understood a staff member from the nearby Riverside Hotel was one of the first to come to the girls’ assistance.
The teenager was taken to Sligo University Hospital where she is being cared for today.
