Sligo businessman: ‘Not enough money in rural plan to fund a footpath’



The head of the new ‘Revive the North West’ campaign says the money allocated under the government’s new rural programme ‘would not fund a footpath’ never mind a town or village.

Sligo restauranteur Anthony Gray and the group are taking a protest to the Dail on the 8th of February calling for better infrastructure for the region.

They say the planned new Collooney to Castlebaldwin bypass is not enough and a proper motorway is needed from Dublin to Sligo and onto Donegal.

Anyone interested in the campaign can attend a meeting in the Swan Room of the Glasshouse Hotel at 7pm tomorrow night, the 2nd of February.
