Increase in number of people on hospital trolleys in NW



There are eight more people waiting for a bed in hospitals in the North West today.

Yesterday, the figure was 42; today it’s 50.

28 of these are in Letterkenny University Hospital, five more than yesterday.

In Sligo University Hospital, there are 22 people waiting, three more than yesterday.

In Letterkenny hospital, 22 of the patients are on wards.

In Sligo, six of the people are on wards with 16 in corridors and overflow areas.

In University Hospital Galway, there are 35 people waiting.

Nationally, there are more than 600 patients waiting for a hospital bed.
