Rovers head to Galway for third pre-season game this evening

Sligo Rovers have their third pre-season friendly this evening.

After successive 4-0 wins over Westport United and Ballinamallard, Dave Robertson’s side head to Eamonn Deacy Park this evening to face Galway United.

It is Shane Keegan’s first game in charge of the Tribesmen, after he departed relegated Wexford Youths at the end of last season.

Former Rovers players Ciaran Nugent and David Cawley could make their first appearances in a Galway jersey this evening, but Calry native Kevin Devaney won’t feature in tonight’s game.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Rovers boss Dave Robertson has been speaking to Ocean FM about what he is hoping for from the game…

New striker Jonah Ayunga could feature again for the Bit O’ Red tonight, having made a second half appearance in last Tuesday’s win against Ballinamallard, when he set up the fourth goal for Mikey Place.

The Kenyan international has come to the Showgrounds on-loan from English Championship high-fliers Brighton for the season.

He has been outlining to Ocean FM how the move came about…
