Gardai investigate attempted attack to ATM in Ballymote



Gardai are investigating an attempted attack on an ATM in Ballymote.

It’s understood at least two raiders could have been involved in the incident which happened at around half past two in the early hours of this morning.

The Scenes of Crime Unit sealed off the area around the ATM at the Ulster Bank in Ballymote earlier today after an attempted attack on the machine last night.

Gardai in Ballymote have confirmed to Ocean FM News that the incident took place at around half past two this morning.

It’s not yet known what kind of a tool was used to try and break into the machine but it’s reported a drill may have been used.

It’s not believed any money was stolen as a result of the incident.

Gardai in Ballymote say the incident is under investigation and they are appealing for anyone who was in the O’Connell Street area of the town last night or who have any further information to contact the Gardai at Ballymote Garda Station on 071-918-3333.
