Sligo taxi-drivers reveal some insurance premiums have trebled in a year



The increasing cost of motor insurance was described at a public meeting in Sligo last night as ‘nothing short of a crisis.’

The meeting, organised by People Before Profit, was one of a series that will take place throughout the country.

About a dozen people attended the meeting.

People Before Profit activist Nigel Gallagher claimed the real reason for the increasing premiums is the ‘insurance companies’ insatible appetite for profit.’
