Local farmers are being urged to submit their claim forms on the EU Milk Reduction Scheme before the closing date on February 3rd.
The Chairperson of ICMSA’s Dairy Committee Gerald Quain is calling on the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine and the Co-ops to ensure that the payments due under the EU Milk Reduction Scheme are issued as soon as possible.
He says that there is no reason for the department to delay payment once the closing date has been reached and it’s essential payment is made early in the month to give farmers some critical financial room-to-maneuver in what is a traditionally tight cash flow month.
