Local TD’s will get the chance to vote on an aid package for Tillage farmers in the Dail this afternoon.
A vote is expected to take place at lunchtime on the introduction of aid for farmers badly affected by poor weather in 2016.
Over 100 farmers, including many from Donegal, protested outside the Dail yesterday calling for the creation of the fund.
Chairman of Donegal IFA Michael Chance believes the stance of the Minister for Agriculture towards the fund has softened in recent days.
He’s urging the public to get their local TD to support the farmers in today’s vote.
