TD calls for clarification on future of Mountcharles respite

There have been calls for the HSE to clarify what services will be available in the future at a Mountcharles respite home.

Independent TD for Donegal Thomas Pringle raised the issue in the Dail this week after services were cut at the Seaview Respite Home.

Over 100 families were availing of the service once every six weeks but can now only use it twice a year according to deputy Pringle.

This, he says, is down to a reduction in staff at the home which has seen services fall to 4.5 days per week.

The Health Minister confirmed to the Donegal deputy that 3 posts are currently being recruited but there was no answer on what services, if any, will be restored.
