Major refurbishment works announced for Enniskillen

A major investment has been announced for Enniskillen town centre.

The Minister for Communities in the Northern Ireland Executive Paul Givan this week announced funding of 4.7 million pounds for the project.

Fermanagh & Omagh District Council will provide a further half a million pounds to bring the funding total to 5.2 million.

Improvement works including paving, landscaping, street lighting and furniture will be delivered on a number of streets to further enhance the town centre, building on the recently completed Castle Basin Project and revitalisation scheme.

The scheme will be delivered over the next three financial years, subject to confirmation as part of the budget settlement and the Department for Communities is currently working with the district council to appoint a team responsible for taking the job through to implementation.
