Book of Condolence opens in Carrick on Shannon for late Dermot Gallagher, former diplomat



As a mark of respect on the death of the late Dermot Gallagher, Leitrim County Council will open a Book of Condolence from 9am this Tuesday.

Mr. Gallagher, who was born in Carrick-on-Shannon, was a former Secretary General at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador to the United States, and other countries.

He is credited with having an influential role in the Northern Ireland peace process.

The Book of Condolence will remain open at the council’s offices in Carrick on Shannon until January 25t
