Trolley numbers up in Letterkenny, down in Sligo

The numbers waiting on hospital trolleys in the North West has risen again today according to INMO figures.

There are 20 people waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital, a sharp rise from yesterday’s six people waiting.

In Sligo University Hospital the numbers have dropped slightly down to 12 on trolleys today.

Nationally there are more than 500 people waiting on trolleys.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says there are 44 patients without a bed at both Cork University Hospital and University Hospital Limerick.

Last week saw record levels of more than 600 on trolleys – prompting the HSE to announce several measures to alleviate the problem.
