Uncertainty around Brexit to make 2017 a challenging year for farmers



The new President of the IFA says that Beef and Tillage sectors have probably been worst hit this year.

Joe Healy took up the position as the new President this year following a pay scandal that rocked the farming organisation at the end of 2015.

He says the floods at the start of the year and then the Brexit vote have been some of the most challenging issues facing farmers in 2016.

He says these have made it a tough year in particular for the tillage and beef sectors.

He says the uncertainly around Brexit is something that will make 2017 challenging as well:
