€5,000 raised for Lost at Sea charity

Nearly €5,000 has been raised in Killybegs, Co Donegal, for the work of the Lost at Sea Tragedies charity.

Most of the money was raised through a sponsored walk and run from Donegal Town to Killybegs, organised and led by Shaun Curran, station officer with Kilybegs Fire Service.

A special plaque alongside an existing memorial in the playground in Killybegs to those who lost their lives at sea was recently blessed by parish priest Fr Colm O Gallchoir.

It was unveiled by the founder of Lost at Sea Tragedies, Noel McDonagh, who travelled from Dunmore East, Co Waterford, for the occasion.

Shaun Curran told Ocean FM News about Lost at Sea Tragedies.
