Councillor says North Leitrim is being forgotten



North Leitrim is being completely forgotten according to a local councillor.

Fianna Fail’s Justin Warnock says there is no plan for the development and creation of jobs in Manorhamilton and other towns & villages in the north of the county.

Currently there are around 1000 jobs in Manorhamilton according to councillor Warnock and there is no sign of that number increasing through IDA or Enterprise Ireland investment.

He says the inclusion of Kinlough, Tullaghan and Dromahair in Donegal and Sligo respectively for the Rural Economic Development Zone programme is also costing the area investment and infrastructure.

Councillor Warnock raised the issue at the December meeting of the Manorhamilton municiapal district to receive a presentation on plans for development.
