Mohill overcome Aughawillan in league final



Mohill have retained the Leitrim Senior League title.

They needed extra-time to defeat county champions Aughawillan at Pairc Sean yesterday.

It finished up 1-14 to 3-6 in favour of Padraic Davis’s side.

This year’s interprovincial football final also took place in Pairc Sean at the weekend.

Ulster defeated Connacht by 2-16 to 3-10, with the home province having led by 3-6 to 1-10 at the break.

Sligo’s Niall Murphy and Kevin McDonnell both started on the Connacht team, while Keelan Cawley was among the substitutes.

Leitrim’s Emlyn Mulligan and Donal Wrynn both featured as second half substitutes for Connacht, with Mulligan hitting one of his side’s four second half points from a free.

No Donegal or Monaghan players featured for Ulster on Saturday, but the seven other counties in the province were all represented in Pete McGrath’s side.

Fermanagh had a number of players in the squad, including Aidan Breen, who hit 1-2 from wing-back.
