A Fianna Fail TD has called for clarification on why there are no Post-Leaving Cert Applied courses available for pupils in Leitrim.
Sligo Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon says he has been approached by a concerned parent in the county this week.
The child has been recommended for such a course but it has emerged that there is no PLC course in the county at all.
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny responded directly to the TD saying he would call on the Education Minister to seek clarification from the Education and Training Board in Leitrim on the matter.
