RSA award for Donegal based road safety initiative

A Donegal-based road safety initiative aimed at rehabilitating dangerous drivers has won an award for its work.

The Pro-Social Drivers programme – set up in 2012 to address the high instances of anti-social driving in Donegal – has taken out the top prize at the 9th annual ‘Leading Lights in Road Safety’ Awards.

The first of its kind in the country, the initiative resembles road rage and driver re-education courses which are widely available for those who come before the courts in the US and Europe

A total of 37 individuals and organisations were honoured at today’s event – organised by the Road Safety Authority.
