Enniscrone gelato named world’s best

It seems County Sligo is the place to go to get your hands on some of the world’s finest Ice Cream.

Gelati ice cream parlour in Enniscrone took home two prestigious awards from one of the oldest ice cream competitions in the world.

The Enniscrone shop, owned by Michael O’Dowd, was invited to enter the Mostra Dal Gelato in Italy last week.

While there the shop was deemed to have the Best Oreo Gelato in the world and came in runner up in the Overall Masters ranking.

Gelati is known for it’s inventive and new flavours hand made from scratch.

It’s the second time this year the shop has picked up a major international award for it’s ice cream after claiming the best Ferero Rocher Gelato last January.

Michael O’Dowd told me how he picked up the presitigous prizes.
