2,500 signatures being delivered to keep Ballygawley Post Office open

Two and a half thousands signatures are being handed in to An Post in Sligo as part of the save Ballygawley post office campaign.

Today is the closing date for submissions of public proposals as part of An Post’s review of the service following the recent death of the postmaster.

Letters of support as well as petitions have been signed by people following a two week long campaign throughout Ballygawley, Geevagh, Ballintogher and Sooey.

The campaign has been ran by a committee set up to keep the service in Ballygawley.

Thomas Walsh is a member and he says the group will be seeking a meeting with An Post in the coming days.
