Donegal IBYE winners announced



The winners of the Donegal county final in the Irish Best Young Entrepreneur Awards were announced at an event in Letterkenny last night.

The IBYE is an initiative of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Enterprise Ireland, and is run by the 31 Local Enterprise Offices across the country.

Each LEO has an investment fund of up to €50,000 to award to young entrepreneurs across three categories locally – Best Business Idea, Best Start-Up Business and Best Established Business.

Gillian Doyle of Cerebreon Technologies in Portnoo was the winner of the best idea taking home investment up to €7,000 with Orla McLoughlin from Health by Orla the runner up.

Winner of the best start up worth a €15,000 investment was Rebecca Fluery of Smart Steps with Joanne Buck of Fraizens in Buncrana the runner up.

Brendan Toner from Audit International was the winner of the best established business with an investment worth €15,000 edging out Aidan Robb from Cargo defenders in the runner up spot.

Brendan Toner also took home the title of Donegal’s Best Young Entrepreneur.
