A new report has raised concern that Garda checkpoints in rural areas are not as prevalent as in urban areas.
The report by the AA shows that there has been a welcome increase in Garda checkpoints generally around the country over the past 6 months.
Over 40% of people surveyed by the AA said they had been stopped at a checkpoint in the last 6 months.
However, that figures fell to just over 30% in rural areas like Donegal and Connacht in general.
