Post office campaign hopes to secure more support over the weekend



Over 700 signatures and letters of support have been received in an effort to keep a post office in county Sligo open.

An Post is carrying out a review of Ballygawley Post Office following the death of the post master recently.

However, the local community has mounted a campaign to ensure it is kept open and they will be continuing their campaign in Geevagh and Ballintogher this weekend.

An online petition and local petitions have been available to sign at the shop in Ballygawley as well as at churches in the locality.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy is on the committee set up to retain the post office says the response has been positive:
