Schools and hundreds of residents affected by east Sligo water outages



Work is ongoing to try and fix a burst main that has led to a number of water outages in areas throughout east Sligo.

Coola post-primary school has had to close for the second time this week due to the outage at the Geevagh Highwood Group Water Scheme.

Sooey National School was also forced to close earlier this week.

Geevagh National School says that it has no water today but is open.

A spokesperson for the scheme says around 400 people are affected by the outage, however, work is being carried out by Coffeys Construction with the aim of restoring supplies over the weekend.
