Sligo-Leitrim Junior Soccer Round-Up November 20

The Arctic conditions seen all but one game in The Great Southern Hotel Sligo Super League take place. Calry Bohs taking on the league leaders Carbury FC and the Institute of Technology Sligo. Calry with only a handful of games under their belt can be a force to be reckoned with on their day one just had to wonder as to what team would turn up. But today Calry were indeed at full strength and struck as early as the fifth minute when Paddy Heraughty rifled home a stunning effort that rocked Carbury. Calry maintained their disciplined and held the lead up to the break. Carbury came out with all guns blazing in the second half but Calry stood strong and with thirty-five minutes remaining Paddy Heraughty again struck the decisive blow with a clinical finish to put the Calry machine into a two-goal lead. The pressure was mounting now league leaders Carbury facing their first defeat of the season and with only seven goals conceded prior to this game had to try and pull this out of the fire. But it was not to be and for good measure Paddy Heraughty finished of a great days work with his third goal that fired Calry Bohs up the table and inflicted Cadbury’s first league defeat of the season.

In the Andrew Mullen Sligo Pallets, Premier League Ballygawley Celtic after eleven games lead the way finishing of the first round of their journey with a comfortable four goal victory away to Chaffpool United. Adrian Egan scoring twice and a goal each from Mark Boyd and Ryan Walsh insuring Ballygawley Top Spot. Chaffpool can still qualify for a Premier League with three games remaining it’s all to play for.

MCR with a blistering display of fire power hit Merville United for eight at Sean Fallon P ark. Ciaran Harvey and Joe Cobbe each bagging a hat trick with Andy Tiernan and Stephen Hallahan rounding of matters for MCR. Jared Tiernan scored the only goal for Merville United.

Carrick Town courtesy of a Ray Mulvey hat trick and a goal apiece from Rodrigo Bouabida and Rostas Balint

Took all three points from the Villa that leaves the town well on course to do battle for Premier Honours.

Benbulben FC won their final game by the odd goal in three at home to Real Tubber Mark Mc Loughlin and Anthony Moylette the hitmen for Benbulben while Matthew Mulhern pulled a goal back for Real Tubber
