Community campaign to save post office continues



The local committee set up to retain the post office in Ballygawley in Co. Sligo say a meeting with local TDs was positive over the weekend.

The issue was also raised at mass in Sooey yesterday where the priest AB o’Shea spoke out in favour of keeping such post offices open for rural communities.

Fr. O’Shea urged people to sign a petition at the door of the Church.

An Post has confirmed that a review of the facility in Ballygawley is being carried out following the death of the postmaster there.

Submissions can be made by the public until the 2nd of December.
