Donegal TD hits out at HSE measures to tackle overcrowding



A Donegal TD is hitting out at the HSE over its failure to put effective measures in place to manage overcrowding in hospitals like Letterkenny.

Fianna Fail’s Charlie McConalogue raised the issue in the Dail yesterday after figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation showed there were 45 people on trolleys there on Wednesday.

The full capacity protocol has been in place at the hospital on numerous occasions in the past two weeks and a number of elective surgeries have also been postponed.
