Sligo councillor wants tax credit for those travelling for work

A Sligo councillor is calling for a tax credit for people who travel long distances to work.

Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Henry says people who live in large urban areas or who can use public transport have the benefit of the Tax Saver Commuter Ticket Scheme.

But he says that in the north west, there are many people who have no choice but to travel long distances to work and who cannot avail of the tax saver scheme.
