It’s hoped the threat of deportation has been lifted from a man on hunger strike at Globe House.
The 44 year-old iranian man has been on hunger strike for over 35 days now.
Another rally took place outside Globe House, the assylum centre where the man has been living.
He claims his life is in danger if he is deported to Iran.
Last week the department said it could not comment on the situation to protect the man’s identity which is now well known locally.
It’s understood the department is expected to make contact with him with a view to removing the deportation order.
