Efforts are to be made this afternoon to have the case of the 44-year old Iranian man who has been on hunger strike in a direct provision centre in Sligo raised in the Dail.

Amjad Rosstami fears he will be killed if he is deported back to Iran.

Last night, he was transferred from Globe House to Sligo University Hospital.

He has been on hunger strike for nearly 40 days.

The People Before Profit/Anti Austerity Alliance TD Richard Boyd Barrett has been telling Ocean FM what’s it’s hoped to achieve in the Dail today.
