PBPA Organise Protest for Iranian man on hunger strike

A second demonstration is to be held outside of Globe House in Sligo later today.

People Before Profit are organising it in support of a middle eastern man on a hunger strike protest inside the asylum centre.

There are government plans in place to deport the man to Iran where it is claimed he will be killed as soon as he arrives.

A demonstration was held at the Sligo centre on Thursday evening last but the political group hope that today’s one will draw more people.

It takes place at 2pm outside the main gates of Globe House in Sligo Town.

Peader Hopkins is part of the Sligo PBP group and he told Ocean FM they hope to attract people from across all political beliefs.
