A leading campaigner for breast cancer services in the north west is this morning welcoming news that a mobile mammography X-ray unit will be in place in Sligo later this month.
Caitriona McGoldrick says a member of the Save Our Cancer Services Campaign has received confirmation of the news from Health Minister Simon Harris.
The arrival of the mobile unit will mark the end of a long and at times bitter campaign after breast cancer services were controversially removed some years ago from Sligo to Galway.
Caitriona McGoldrick expressed her delight with the latest news when she spoke to Ocean FM this morning.
