The Chinese ambassador says the issue of human rights must be dealt with on the basis of mutual respect between different countries.
Asked about the issue by Ocean FM News during a visit to Sligo yesterday, he says humans rights is a universal cause for mankind.
He said the People’s Republic of China, since it was founded, had been trying to improve human rights.
He also cited the millions of people taken out of poverty in his country, which he said was also a human rights issue.
