25 people on trolleys in Letterkenny Hospital



25 people are waiting on a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital this lunchtime.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that 18 people are on trolleys with a further 7 waiting in overflow areas of wards.

The Saolta hospital group confirmed to Ocean FM there are a number of patients awaiting discharge and this has led to the Emergency Department being very busy today.

For the second consecutive day there are no patients waiting in Sligo University Hospital.

According to the latest trolley watch report there are over 450 people waiting on a bed in hospitals across the country with University Hospital Limerick the worst effected as 54 people are in need of a bed.
