Sligo RFC U15s win again to go top of the table

In perfect conditions at Hamilton park on Saturday last  Sligo U15s continued their unbeaten run with another emphatic win over a strong Westport side. Sligo started the stronger and controlled most of procession throughout  the first half. Tries from King, Broaders, Cregg and Marren put Sligo 22 points ahead at the break. Sligo brought on all their replacements in the second half and scored 4 more tries from Cregg , king and Scott. Westport got their consolation try 5 mins from the end which put the final score 49 – 7 to Sligo. The standard of rugby was fantastic from both sides in particular the defensive work from Sligo in the second half when Westport were camped on the Sligo line.

Sligo’s 4th try from Brian Marren was the score of the game , it was the result of a phase of up to 15 passes all started by prop Damian Cullen. Unfortunately Sligo picked up injuries to two key players Bob Reynolds and Daniel Ford during the game , both are expected to make a full recovery.
