New chairperson for Donegal ETB

A Letterkenny woman has been elected as the new chairperson of the Donegal Education and Training Board for the year ahead.

Regina Grant was appointed to the position at the ETB’s annual general meeting in Donegal yesterday, replacing Bernie Mulhern who held the position for the past year.

She was nominated for the position by Sinn Fein councillor Gary Doherty with Independent councillor John Campbell seconding the nomination.

Ms. Grant previously held the deputy chair of the Donegal ETB and is also a founding member of Our Children’s Voice, a group of Donegal parents who advocate on behalf of the needs of children with life limiting conditions.

The Education Training Board in Donegal is the largest educational organisation with 15 post primary schools under them.

Geoffrey Brown was also elected as vice chairperson.

Ms. Grant said she is looking forward to being involved in what is coming up over the next year.
