Concerns over privacy at council housing office



A change in the location of Sligo’s local authorities’ housing offices has resulted in a lack of privacy for people to discuss their business, it’s been claimed.

There had been two housing offices, one in City Hall and the other in County Hall at Riverside.

However, Independent Councillor Declan Bree says the relocation of the housing department to the former planning offices in County Hall has resulted in people having to talk to council staff within a few metres of other people sitting in the waiting area.

Cllr Bree has been told the council hasn’t the staff or resources at present to provide the service he is asking for.
