The Minister for Rural Affairs is due to launch the Tubbercurry rural economic development zone later this week.
Heather Humphreys will launch the pilot programme on Friday.
€150,000 was allocated towards intiatives in the town to boost local employment including the development of the local enterprise centre.
The zone covers the town and its hinterland of 15 electoral districts in the counties of Sligo and Mayo.
