A significant parking area at a planned new cemetery in Ballisodare in county Sligo is key to the development along the busy N59 Ballina road.
Sligo County Council approved planning for the new cemetery in March at Abbeytown between Ballisodare and Corhownagh Church.
It’s being developed by the Ballisodare Parish Finance Committee and will consist of 2800 plots and a significant parking area with over 115 spaces.
A spokesperson for the project told Ocean FM that the number of parking spaces is key to making sure there is no congestion or safety issues along the busy N59 road.
It’s hoped that work can start when details of the sale are finalised in the coming weeks.
