Poor broadband ‘causing businesses to think of moving out’

A Leitrim councillor has claimed some businesses are thinking of moving out of the region because of inadequate broadband service in rural areas.

Fine Gael Councillor Sean McDermott has made the claim following a meeting yesterday of the Irish Central Border Area Network at which the issue of broadband service in the region was discussed.

Councillor McDermott says that despite much discussion, no progress is being made on providing the required level of service.
