School Bag could be crucial in unsolved disappearance in Dublin

A school bag found during the search for Philip Cairns will be examined for DNA evidence.

30 years since the 13 year old disappeared in Rathfarnham, Gardai are looking into the possibility that Philip may have been abducted by a convicted sex offender.

It’s after a woman came forward to Gardaí claiming to have new information about the case.

It’s understood Gardaí interviewed convicted sex offender Eamon Cooke in connection with the case before he died last week.

Sinn Féin TD for Dublin South West, Sean Crowe, says that he hopes that new information can give the family closure.
