Local authorities throughout the country can now avail of free energy-saving schemes for their houses, using remote technology.
Sligo County Council is among the local authorities taking part.
However, Leitrim and Donegal councils are, so far, not among the participants.
Under the Smart Technology Energy Saving Scheme, houses are fitted with a remote control heating system.
It allows homeowners control their heating times and temperature through a smartphone, text message or online.
