Killybegs to welcome four cruiseliners this weekend



Four cruiseliners coming into Killybegs port this weekend are set to bring a huge boost to the local economy not just in Donegal but right across the north west.

This weekend, four huge cruise ships will visit the port over three days.

One of them the 28,000 ton MS Boudicca has 880 passengers and 325 crew alone and will be in port on Sunday as part of a major cruise from Liverpool to Canada and back.

On Saturday the MS L’Austral will bring 260 French visitors while the Albatross will bring 830 Germans to the port on the same day.

While the prestigious MS National Geographic Explorer will arrive at lunchtime on Monday.

Tony O’Callaghan of the Killybegs Information Centre says the extension to the pier in Killybegs means that this is an attractive port for these types of vessels.

He says it means a great boost to local business:
