Sligo athletes claim medals in Tullamore

It was another hugely successful weekend for Sligo athletes at the National Juvenile Track & Field Championships in Tullamore.
Sligo AC’s Zak Irwin won gold in the boys U17 200 metres, while Colm Bourke won silver in the U18 boys long jump, and Orlaith Delahunt and Dylan Carty claimed silver and Robbie Kelly took bronze in the racewalking events.
From North Sligo AC, Cian mcBride won the U16 1500 metres ahead of clubmate William Crowe, while Odhran Byrne-Gildea took silver in the U16 200m.
Meanwhile, McBride, Crowe, Byrne-Gildea and Ryan McCarrick were on the U16 relay team that set a new national record in winning their event.
