Shelbourne team news for Rovers game

Shelbourne welcome league leaders Sligo Rovers to Tolka Park on Friday for their game in round 23 of the Premier Division of the Airtricity League.  Kick-off at Tolka Park is 8pm.

 

UCD defeated Shelbourne in last week’s fixture, with the Reds succumbing to yet another late late goal, scored by Paul Corry in the 88th minute. Philly Hughes had, just six minutes earlier, equalised UCD’s opening goal, scored by David McMillan four minutes before half-time.

 

Ian Baraclough’s Sligo Rovers will be paying their second visit to the capital in five days, having drawn 1-1 with last year’s league winners, Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium on Monday night.

 

Earlier in the season, Sligo Rovers completely dominated their home fixture with Friday’s opponents, coming out clear winners by a score of 3-0, with goals from Danny North (2) and Pascal Millien.  Sligo’s last visit to Tolka Park told a different story, however, when it took a goal scored by Alan Keane, in the 94th minute, to draw the game, Philly Hughes having put the Dublin Reds ahead on 42 minutes.

 

Once again this week, Shelbourne report that they’re clear of injuries and with no suspensions, manager Alan Mathews will have a full squad to select from.
